Wyndham's Winter Street Party To Be Livestreamed

The highlight in Wyndham's annual event calendar is the City's Winter Street Party but this year, due to social distancing restrictions, we will be bringing you a taste of the wintry fun directly to your homes with our Winter House Party.

As you stay warm at home, Wyndham City will bring you an hour of artistic performances live streamed straight to your couch, so you can experience the best parts of our famous Winter Street Party, minus the crowds.

Arts and Heritage portfolio holder Cr Tony Hooper said many local artists were ready to entertain with live music, fire shows, and live ice sculpture demonstrations.

"Council is committed to delivering a vibrant events program to the community and to provide benefits and opportunities to businesses, especially during current Covid-19 restrictions," Cr Hooper said.

"The focal piece of the party is always a spectacular ice sculpture and this year one of Melbourne's finest ice sculptors Paul Lowcock will create an ice sculpture of one of our famous sculptures in Wyndham right before your eyes, so you'll need to tune in for the hour to watch this progress and have fun guessing what he's carving."

"Watch an art piece come to life with local artist Paul Rok - and once the lights go out at the end of the hour-long party, you will see a secret ultraviolet message within the artwork."

"The original live music throughout the party will be performed by Wyndham guitar duo Opal Ocean, Mr Marmalade will perform a silent magic show guaranteed to impress."

"To conclude the hour of local entertainment, a fire performance will include performers fire eating, spinning poi, flaming hula hooping, fire staffs and fans and awe-inspiring acrobatics."

"One of the best parts of the Winter Street Party is the range of delicious food on offer in Werribee City Centre, so why not grab a takeaway from your favourite local café or restaurant before you settle in for the Winter House Party."
