Wyndham City is proud to announce Takee Alif as the One Wyndham recipient for March.
Takee has completed a Diploma of Music and is currently studying a Bachelor of Music. As a young leader in his field he has been nominated to mentor new students on their creative journey.
Takee is self-motivated and has created and hosted numerous radio shows and podcasts on SYN 90.7FM. As well as participating in the 'Stories Behind the Sound', for the 2025 twenty-four-hour Radiothon broadcast.
He inspires young people to help shape the future for young people in music in Australia.
Takee has completed an internship with Tibi Access that supported accessibility in music, and has worked as a sound technician, Business Development Manager at DJ Central Records and teaches guitar and piano at a music school in the West of Melbourne.
Takee is establishing himself as a multifaceted indie pop creative with the ambition and vision to match! He is evolving as a creative songwriting entrepreneur, making music that connects and inspires across generations and cultures and resonates with people.
His musical journey began at the age of nine with classical violin, later expanding into guitar and songwriting as a teenager. His music draws heavily from his upbringing and cultural roots, particularly his Bengali background.
Recently, completing a 3-month artist development program focused on branding, stagecraft, business skills, and industry networking with Valley Youth Moonee Valley Council and participated in the 2024 Decibels Indie Program Darebin Council; the M-Tribe and 'Unleash the Artist' programs at Music Valley Point Cook and has released three singles last year in 2025 'watermelon moon', 'you' and 'out of my mind' which was nominated for a People's Choice award in the Cassette Awards.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Preet Singh, said "Takee is an inspirational role model that is self-driven and works hard to achieve his goals."
"Wyndham City appreciates Takee's contribution to the Wyndham community." said Cr Singh.
One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the 'Young Person of the Month'.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
