Yamba Library & Community Centre Opening Welcomes All

Be among the first to experience the new state-of-the-art Yamba Library and Community Centre at its official opening from 10am on Friday 18 July 2025.

Come along for the official opening, which will feature a ribbon cutting and celebratory cake, guided tours of the new centre, the launch of the gallery exhibition, and a range of activities for all ages. Experience the incredible new library space, now three times the size of the previous facility and home to a collection of more than 16,000 books.

Yamba Library and Community Centre is a vibrant, inclusive space designed to support a connected and resilient community, now and into the future. The purpose-built facility includes eight multipurpose rooms, a modern library, art exhibition space, youth zone, community kitchen, accessible amenities and on-site parking.

Construction of the facility has created dozens of local jobs and will continue to support employment in the region through the delivery of programs, services and ongoing operations.

Clarence Valley Mayor Cr Ray Smith said he is excited for the centre to officially open and for the community to enjoy the brand-new facility.

"It's been great seeing the progress at the site throughout this project, but I'm excited for the new centre to be opened," Mayor Smith said.

"To have the first Changing Places adult change facility in the Clarence Valley is a huge achievement and a significant step toward making our region more inclusive.

This is going to be a fantastic facility and a hub for our community for years to come.

"We also kept this project local, with many local businesses collaborating with Bennetts Construction to bring this facility to life."

Federal Minister for Emergency Management, Kristy McBain, said the event will celebrate the community's achievement and progress on the road to recovery.

"The completion of this facility is such a massive win for Yamba, and it's great to see that this significant milestone will be marked with a great opening event later this month."

Minister for Regional NSW, Tara Moriarty, encouraged everyone to come along to the official opening in two weeks' time.

"This will be a special space for the community to come together, to share common experiences and to celebrate all that is great about this wonderful region."
