Benalla Rural City Council is asking young people to contribute their thoughts, concerns and suggestions for improvement by responding to its 2021 Youth Strategy survey.

The survey, which will inform the 2021-2025 Youth Strategy, allows young people to contribute their ideas in an anonymous online survey.

The Council's Youth Development Team will engage young people directly through social media, schools, community groups, at local youth hubs such as the Benalla Skate Park and through focus groups.

Mayor Cr Danny Claridge said the Council was striving toward a diverse response from all young people aged 12-25 who live, work and study in Benalla Rural City.

'We want to make sure the 2021-2025 Youth Strategy is informed by the many diverse voices that comprise our community of young people in Benalla Rural City,' said Cr Claridge.

'We know that young people have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions. The survey will help us understand how needs have changed, allowing us to continue to make decisions that support young people in our community.'

Young people aged 12-25 who live, work or study in Benalla Rural City should respond to the survey to contribute. Respondents have the chance to win a $100 voucher to any local business of their choice.
