Young writers celebrated - Mosman

Winners of the 2020 Mosman Youth Awards in Literature were announced at a special livestreamed ceremony on Wednesday 26 August.

The awards recognise writing by students from Kindergarten to Year 12, in the categories of prose for Primary (K-6), Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12), and poetry for Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12).

The popular awards are in their 28th year and since they first commenced in 1993 aspiring young writers have submitted more than 9,000 original stories and poems.

This year the awards attracted 114 entries and 15 young writers were recognised with awards and commendations, including students from local schools Mosman Public, Redlands and Mosman High School.
