A youth is in police custody as an operation continues at a property in Sydney's north-west this morning.
About 2am today (Saturday 4 April 2026), emergency services were called to a property on Bocks Road, Oakville, following reports a group of people had driven a ute onto the property and allegedly smashed the windows of a home, before setting the vehicle alight.
On police arrival, about several males were seen running from the property on foot, and another entered a second vehicle before leaving the scene.
Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command commenced a pursuit, before the vehicle stopped on Fontana Drive, The Gables, where the driver ran away.
Police commenced a search with assistance from PolAir, the Dog Unit, and Raptor Squad, and a 17-year-old boy was arrested a short time later.
He has been taken to Windsor Police Station.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the vehicle fire on the Oakville property; inquiries have revealed the ute had been reported stolen last month to Riverstone Police.
The occupants of the home – a man and a woman both aged 50 – were not injured.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
As a police operation continues, anyone with information, CCTV or relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
