Youth Art Gallery: Fighting Gender Violence

The Union of High School Students of the Republic of North Macedonia (UNHSM), in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Skopje, announces an Open Call for high school students to submit original artworks for a public exhibition dedicated to promoting gender equality and countering gender-based violence against young women and girls.

About the Initiative

This youth-led initiative aims to create a platform for high school students to raise awareness and express their perspectives on equality, dignity, and the importance of creating a safe and violence-free environment for all young women and girls.

Eligibility

The Open Call is open to all high school students in the Republic of North Macedonia.

Participants under the age of 18 may be required to provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian prior to the public exhibition and any promotional use of their artwork.

Accepted Types of Artworks

  • Digital artwork
  • Painting or drawing (traditional techniques)
  • Photography
  • Mixed media

Technical Requirements

  • All submissions must be original works created by the applicant.
  • AI-generated artworks will not be accepted.
  • Accepted file formats are: JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
  • There are no prescribed dimensions for submissions;
  • The artwork must be submitted in the highest available quality (original file, not a screenshot) to ensure it is suitable for printing and public exhibition.

Please include:

  • Full name
  • Age and school
  • Contact information
  • Title of the artwork
  • A short description of the artwork

Deadline for Submission

15 March 2026

Evaluation Process:

All submissions will be reviewed by an Evaluation Committee composed of three judges.

The evaluation process will be completed by 25 March 2026.

The decisions of the Evaluation Committee shall be final.

Exhibition and Awards

Selected artworks will be exhibited at a public event scheduled for the second half of April 2026.

All selected participants will receive certificates of recognition, and three selected winners will receive symbolic prizes.

Additional Information

By submitting their artwork, participants consent to the use of their work for exhibition and promotional purposes related to this initiative, with proper attribution.
