Youth charged with attempted robbery with violence in Zillmere, QLD

Police have charged a 16-year-old youth following an attempted robbery of a store in Zillmere last night, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at about 7.15pm the youth attended a business on Zillmere Road demanding the store owner give him a hundred dollars.

When the store owner declined, it will be further alleged the youth punched her numerous times.

The youth exited the store before re-entering and allegedly assaulting the woman again.

The youth then fled on foot in a westerly direction along Zillmere Road.

Paramedics attended and treated the woman at the scene.

Investigations led police to an address in Zillmere where the youth was arrested and later charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery with violence and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear in the Pine Rivers Childrens Court.
