Youth Week: Darwin Council Offers Free Activities for Teens

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin is pleased to support Northern Territory Youth Week 2024 with a range of free and interactive events for young people being held throughout the municipality.

Northern Territory Youth Week, facilitated by the NT Government, is the largest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 years old and runs from Saturday 6 to Wednesday 17 April 2024.

Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said Youth Week provided an opportunity to acknowledge the positive contributions young people make to Darwin.

"City of Darwin is committed to supporting and promoting young people through our LAUNCH program, which provides activities, events and programs for young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work or study in Darwin," Mr Vatskalis said.

"The theme for Youth Week this year is 'Aspire to Inspire: Celebrating Territory Spirit' which aims to celebrate the uniqueness and diversity that makes the Territory so special.

"We are looking forward to bringing the theme to life through a range of free activities, including a free ice-skating session, an arts and culture festival at the Museum featuring a pre-loved clothing and artist market and the popular Couch Surfing race, held in conjunction with Anglicare NT.

"City of Darwin is committed to supporting the interests and aspirations of young people who contribute to making Darwin the vibrant and colourful city we are so proud of," he said.
