Youths arrested after attempted carjacking in Docklands

Three teens are in custody after an attempted carjacking in Docklands this afternoon.

Investigators were told the males approached a man in the car park of a shopping centre on Waterfront Way about 1.20pm.

It is alleged one of the youths produced a knife and demanded the man's car keys to his Ford Territory which he refused to hand over.

The trio fled on foot and uniform police gave chase, arresting one of the youths.

The other two youths jumped into the Yarra River off Central Pier, Docklands before swimming back in to waiting officers who promptly arrested them.

A 15-year-old Tarneit boy, a 15-year-old Cobram boy and a 13-year-old Wyndham Vale boy are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
