Three girls were arrested after a woman was robbed of her car at an Ingle Farm shopping centre yesterday afternoon.
Just before 3pm on Friday 14 August, police were called to a shopping centre car park on Montague Road, Ingle Farm after reports a woman had been approached by youths in the car park.
It will be alleged that during the incident, one of the suspects produced a knife, stole the victim's handbag and car keys, and drove away in her Nissan station wagon.
The 61-year-old victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
Police spotted the stolen car travelling north on Bridge Road about 4.20pm.
A short time later, the Nissan was abandoned on Maxwell Road at Para Hills and four occupants fled on foot.
With the assistance of patrols, Dog Operations Unit officers and Street Gang Task Force members, two girls, a 15-year-old from Elizabeth East and a 12-year-old from Ingle Farm, were arrested nearby.
They were charged with illegal use and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 18 September.
Following further investigations, a 13-year-old Elizabeth South girl was arrested last night and charged with assault, theft using force, illegal use and driving unlicensed.
She was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.
The stolen vehicle was recovered and towed away for forensic examination.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are following positive lines of enquiry for others involved.
