Youths charged re. Braybrook assault

Westgate Divisional Response Unit officers have charged two 16-year-old boys following an alleged assault in Braybrook last Friday.

It's alleged a 15-year-old boy was approached by two males on Churchill Avenue about 3.30pm on 28 July.

The two males allegedly produced machetes and threatened the victim.

It's alleged the boy ran from the offenders and was chased for a short distance before offenders gave up and fled the area.

A 16-year-old Sunshine North boy was arrested in Braybrook on Tuesday by Westgate Alliance Taskforce detectives.

He has been charged with affray, assault with a weapon and possessing a controlled weapon.

The other 16-year-old boy from Sunshine North has been charged with affray and assault with a weapon.

They have both been bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.
