$1.6M Cocaine Bust: Three Charged in Sydney Raid

Three people have been charged after 10kg cocaine was seized as part of a joint investigation in Sydney's south-west.

In June 2026, officers attached to Bankstown Region Enforcement Squad (RES), with assistance from Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers, established Strike Force Laleto to investigate the large-scale importation of cocaine allegedly via a Sydney freight company.

As part of investigations, police seized several packages allegedly containing 10kg of cocaine from the freight company.

The cocaine has an estimated potential street value of $1.6 million.

Following inquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Gledswood Hills Drive, Gledswood Hills, about 2.40pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 July 2026), and arrested the driver – a 33-year-old man.

A number of items were seized from the vehicle.

A short time later, police attended a unit complex in Lusty Avenue, Moorebank, where they arrested a 23-year-old woman.

About 3pm, police arrested a 42-year-old man on Pleasant Court, Gledswood Hills.

The men were both taken to Narellan Police Station, while the woman was taken to Liverpool Police Station.

Following further inquiries, investigators – with assistance from AFP officers – executed a Commonwealth search warrant at a unit on Lusty Place, Moorebank.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized a number of items, including MDMA, cocaine and cannabis leaf.

Officers attached to South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group (OSG), with assistance from Bankstown RES and AFP officers, executed a second Commonwealth search warrant at a house on Ashwell Way, Gledswood Hills.

During the search, investigators seized a number of items, including almost $50,000 cash.

The 23-year-old woman was charged with import commercial quantity of border controlled drug, possess commercial quantity unlawful import: border controlled drug (attempted), supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

The 42-year-old man was charged with possess commercial quantity unlawful import: border controlled drug (attempted), supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity, and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

The 33-year-old was charged supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity, and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

All three people were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court today (Thursday 2 July 2026).
