It's been wonderful to see so many people out and about enjoying the last week of summer.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising the Dunolly Pool Party on Saturday – from looking at the photos on Facebook it looked like it was a fantastic day for local families to come together to enjoy the pool as well as each other's company.

On Sunday we celebrated the official opening of the Skate and Scooter Park in Maryborough. This too was well attended by our community – with people of all ages coming together to celebrate this valued community facility. Thanks again to the funding partners who made this possible as well as the young people who came together to advocate for it back in 2018.

On Monday night I was fortunate to attend the Zonta Club of Central Goldfields International Women's Day event. It was an inspiring night to hear from Maryborough born ABC State Political Reported for ABC Bridget Rollason as the guest speaker. Thank you to everyone involved with organising such a great night.

This weekend we are inviting everyone to join us for the re-opening of the newly redeveloped Central Goldfields Art Gallery.

A community celebration will be held on Saturday 4 March from 10am to 4pm and we'd love for you to join us!

The Gallery will re-open with the first headline exhibition of its 2023 program – Ladder to the Stars: Dean Bowen Sculptures – as well as the annual Community Art exhibition.

There will also be storytime, art activities for children/young people, music from Jan Stephenson from the Groove Dudes Dunolly, badge making hosted by Central Goldfields Youth, coffee, sausage/veggie sizzle thanks to Rotary Maryborough and a talk by Andrew Stephens, author of Nitty Gritty, Dean Bowen sculptures followed by book signings.
