March is National Pet Adoption Month and in 2026 there are more reasons than ever to adopt from RSPCA WA – 100 of them. That's because Royal Canin will contribute $100 for every cat or dog adopted from RSPCA locations across Australia in March.
RSPCA WA Shelter Manager Emily Farrell said the generous pledge would amplify the impact of adopters.
"If you choose to adopt from the RSPCA you are already doing a wonderful thing by giving an animal a second chance at a safe and loving home," she said. "By adopting in March, you'll also have a tremendous impact on the animals still in care thanks to the $100 Royal Canin contribution."
One animal patiently waiting for a new home is Pixel, a 10-month-old mixed breed puppy who has been in the RSPCA's care for more than a third of his short life. Pixel was surrendered after he injured his front leg and his owners couldn't afford to have it treated. Unfortunately, the leg couldn't be saved but Ms Farrell said the energetic,
loving pup has adapted well to being a tripod.
"Pixel is naturally a little timid so a loving, stable home environment is just what he needs to shine," she said. "He does have some special needs given his medical history but we will give you all the information and behaviour support you need to make the adoption and settling in process as smooth as possible".
Each year, Royal Canin provides 288 tonnes of high-quality pet food to nourish the animals in RSPCA shelters while they await adoption. All adopted cats and dogs go home already desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, Bravecto flea and tick protected and with a bag of Royal Canin dry food, and in March Royal Canin is taking this one step further,
also contributing $100 to the RSPCA up to the value of $200,000.
Managing Director of Royal Canin ANZ, Jeremy Sassoon said the company was proud to contribute $100 for every adoption in March, on top of already providing science-backed nutrition to animals in the RSPCA's care.
"Every adoption is a story of hope. By supporting the RSPCA, Royal Canin is helping to turn these stories into reality, ensuring adopted pets go home not only with a loving family, but also with the nutrition they need to thrive," he said.
"There are hundreds of reasons to consider adopting a new pet. One of my top reasons is the daily adventures and fun our dog brings into our home. If you have been thinking about bringing a new pet into your lives, now is a great time," said Mr Sassoon.
