$13.6 Million To Cement Australia's Status In World-class Clinical Trials

The Albanese Government is investing $13.6 million to progress key national health and medical research reforms; improve earlier access to emerging treatments, strengthen Australia's clinical trials and deliver better health outcomes for Australians.

The funding will progress the design of the National One Stop Shop for clinical trials, develop national standard operating procedures for clinical trials, implement the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, and develop an accreditation scheme for the human research ethics committees.

These once in a generation health and medical research reforms will support our world class health and medical researchers while making sure all Australians benefit from the results of cutting-edge research in diagnosis, treatment and care earlier.

Today's funding announcement continues the Albanese Government's investment in world-class medical research including kickstarting the design of the single national platform for health research, the National One Stop Shop.
