200 cannabis plants seized from Beverley Hills home, NSW

Police have seized more than 200 cannabis plants during a search warrant at Beverley Hills yesterday, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Grassy was established by officers attached to Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) to investigate the enhanced indoor cultivation of cannabis plants.

About 6.20pm (Monday 2 July 2018), officers attended Holley Street to execute a search warrant.

As police entered the house a man ran out the rear of the house. A search was conducted with the assistance of a police dog; however, he was unable to be located.

A search of the house was conducted and police found 204 cannabis plants in several rooms, with an estimated potential street value of $408,000.

Investigations into the seizure are continuing.

Since October 2017 officers attached to Strike Force Grassy have executed 17 search warrants, seizing 2200 cannabis plants and nearly 40kg of cannabis leaf with an estimated street value of $4.41 million dollars.
