Results for the 2020 Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey have been released.
The main objective of the annual survey is to ask 400 residents to assess the performance of the City of Greater Bendigo across seven performance measures.
This year's survey was conducted from January 30 to March 22.
It found young people aged 18-34 were more positive and confident about the direction of Council, when compared to people aged over 65, while 46 per cent of residents rated Council's overall performance as 'good' or 'very good'.
The City's highest score was 69 for 'Customer service', followed by 60 in the 'Sealed local roads' category which was significantly better than Regional Centres (55) and State-wide (54) averages.
Chief Executive Officer Craig Niemann said despite a drop in results based on last year's figures, except for 'Sealed local roads', the City was on par with Regional Centres and State-wide averages.
"It is disappointing to see these decreases, however our scores for 'Lobbying', 'Community decisions' and 'Consultation and engagement' were all greater than the Regional Centres averages," Mr Niemann said.
"Although the survey takes in a small sample of residents, we are always seeking to improve the way we serve our community and these results will help us to better do this in the future."
