2020 kinder registrations NOW OPEN - Campaspe Shire Council

Registration for 2020 four-year-old funded kindergarten and three-year-old kindergarten programs are now open.

Campaspe Shire Council Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said kindergarten is an important stage of a child's social and emotional development, providing a strong foundation on which skills are learned, developed and built on right throughout their lives.

"The kindergarten environment allows children to develop their language, literacy and numeracy skills by a fun and engaging means," Cr Weston said.

Council's centralised registration process makes it easy for parents, they are able to indicate their kindergarten preferences in the one application, saving time and effort.

Children are eligible to attend a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program if they turn four years of age on or before 30 April in the year of attendance.

Campaspe Shire coordinates central registration for 11 of the 16 kindergartens across the shire. Central registration is available for kindergarten programs at Echuca Central, Echuca East, Echuca South, Rochester, Lockington, Tongala, Gunbower, Stanhope, Berrimba, Pink & Blue and Goodstart Early Learning.

A kindergarten information evening will be held on Tuesday, 14 May from 5.30 to 6.30pm at the Echuca Library. Parents and carers will have the opportunity to learn about central registration, kindergarten services available in Campaspe and have any questions answered.

"It's a great opportunity to hear from early childhood educators about the kindergarten experience," Cr Weston said.

This year, central registration can be submitted online, through council's website, following the "now open" tab. They are also available hard copy, through customer service centres, the kindergartens, Maternal and Child Health centres and Berrimba Childcare Centre.

Applications for first round offers close on 31 July 2019.
