Youth Minister Dave Kelly today announced the 39 finalists in the 2021 WA Youth Awards - young people, youth workers and youth organisations from across Western Australia.
The WA Youth Awards were established in 1999 to recognise the achievements and contributions to the community of young Western Australians aged 12 to 25 years.
The 2021 WA Youth Awards will mark the start of Youth Week WA 2021, the largest celebration of young people on the State's youth calendar.
This year there were 95 nominations received from across 10 award categories, with the winners to be announced on Friday April 9.
The award categories cover areas including positive achievement, small organisation's achievement, large organisation's achievement, community leadership and creative contribution.
The Awards include the Charmaine Dragun Memorial Award and the Minister for Youth's Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award.
Award winners, including the WA Young Person of the Year, will be announced at the WA Youth Awards gala ceremony at the WA Museum Boola Bardip on April 9.
The WA Youth Awards are co-ordinated by the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia and supported by Lotterywest, the Department of Communities and 10 sponsor organisations.

"I am really pleased to see the WA Youth Awards, now in their 22nd year, return after a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
"The calibre of entries is extremely high and highlights the incredible passion and dedication of a diverse range of young people, youth workers and youth organisations across the state and on Christmas Island.
"Individual and organisation finalists include champions for mental health awareness, sexual health and well-being, indigenous youth; performing arts, suicide prevention; youth homelessness and environmental sustainability.
"It is important that we continue to recognise and celebrate young people and those who work to support them, particularly after such a tough year in 2020.
"The young finalists are leaders who are making significant contributions to their sector, of which the whole community should be proud."
