2026 Australia Day Events In Campaspe

Community groups across Campaspe Shire are bringing together an exciting and diverse program of events to celebrate Australia Day 2026.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell commended the dedication behind these celebrations, acknowledging the strong sense of community that drives them.

"Our clubs and committees continue to show incredible commitment and creativity, making Australia Day a true reflection of the vibrant spirit of our shire," Cr Mackrell said.

"As well as traditional flag-raising and award ceremonies showcasing the remarkable achievements of our community members, the day will also offer a variety of events for the whole family.

"Beyond the formalities, residents can look forward to a fantastic mix of activities including BBQ breakfasts, lunches and dinners as well as guest speakers, pool parties, yabby races, games, and live music.

"There's something for everyone to enjoy as we come together to celebrate what makes our community so special," said Cr Mackrell.

The following events will be held on Australia Day:

Echuca

Coordinated by Rotary Club of Echuca Moama.

Hopwood Gardens from 7.00am – 2pm.

This event includes BBQ breakfast, flag-raising ceremony, Welcome to Country, guest speaker, Australia Day Ambassador presentation, formation flyover by Echuca Aero Club and family fun.

Girgarre

Coordinated by the Girgarre Community Group Inc.

Girgarre Memorial Hall from 8.30 – 10.30am.

This event includes a flag-raising ceremony, presentation of awards, BBQ breakfast and music.

Gunbower

Coordinated by Gunbower Lions Club.

The Jetty, Gunbower Recreation Reserve from 8am

This event includes a community breakfast and guest speaker.

Koyuga

Coordinated by the Koyuga Memorial Hall and Recreation Reserve Committee.

Koyuga Hall from 5pm.

This event includes a sausage sizzle and the annual yabby races.

Kyabram

Coordinated by Rotary Club of Kyabram.

John Pilley Reserve at Kyabram Fauna Park from 8 - 10am.

This event includes an Australia Day breakfast and entertainment.

Kyvalley

Coordinated by Kyvalley Swimming Club Inc.

Kyvalley Community Park from 12.15 - 3pm.

This event will begin with a BBQ lunch then at 1.15pm a community ceremony, guest speaker, entertainment as well as the pool being open to the public from 12 noon - 3pm.

Lockington

Coordinated by Lockington Lions Club and the Action Club of Lockington.

Lockington Community Centre from 8 - 10am.

Lockington Channel from 10am – 12noon.

This event will include breakfast, flag-raising ceremony and a kids' fishing competition at the Lockington Channel.

Rochester

Coordinated by the Rochester Lions Club and the Rochester Australia Day Committee.

Rochester Lions Park from 8.15 - 9.30am.

This event will include a BBQ breakfast, flag-raising ceremony, guest speaker, and presentation of awards.

Rushworth

Coordinated by the Rushworth and District Australia Day Committee.

Rushworth 'Village Green' from 10am - 12 noon.

This event will include a welcoming of new residents to Rushworth & District, presentation of awards, free BBQ and live entertainment.

Stanhope

Coordinated by the Stanhope Australia Day Committee.

Stanhope Community Hall at 9.30am.

This event will include a flag-raising ceremony, guest speakers, music and sausage sizzle.

Toolleen

Coordinated by Toolleen Recreation Reserve Committee of Management.

Toolleen Community Centre at 11.30am

This event will include a buffet luncheon, opening of time capsule, guest speaker and music from Rhonda Rhistrom.

Tongala

Coordinated by the Tongala Lions Club

Tongala Soundshell from 11am - 3pm.

This event will begin with an Australian Day ceremony and guest speaker and include a picnic in the park, with old fashioned family games and 'open mike' supporting musical entertainment throughout the day. BBQ sausages will be provided, however everyone is encouraged to BYO picnic.

Wyuna

Coordinated by Wyuna Community Memorial Hall Inc.

Wyuna Memorial Hall at 6.30pm

This event will include a flag-raising ceremony and community BBQ.
