2026 Measurement Awards Now Open

The NMI Measurement Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in measurement, spanning all industries and experience levels.

This year's awards are:

  • the Barry Inglis Medal for sustained contributions to Australian measurement science and infrastructure
  • the NMI Measurement Impact Award for measurement-related achievements with real-world impact, and
  • the Measurement Achievements Encouragement Award, which recognises early to mid-career professionals for measurement-related achievements.

The NMI Measurement Awards focus on recognising excellence, impact and contribution to measurement science. Nominate yourself or a colleague who inspires you and join us in showcasing the incredible depth and impact of measurement science across Australia.

Submissions close on World Metrology Day , Wednesday 20 May 2026.

Measurement Awards finalists will also vie for the People's Choice Award. This will be chosen by audience vote in a virtual award ceremony during National Science Week this August.
