$25 000 worth of stolen goods found during vehicle stop in Goulburn

Two men have been charged after a large amount of electrical and computer goods, with an estimated value of $25 000, were discovered during a vehicle stop at Goulburn this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 1.35pm (Monday 27 August 2018), police attached to Traffic & Highway Patrol at Goulburn detected a vehicle allegedly travelling above the speed limit on the Hume Highway, Goulburn.

Officers pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the 26-year-old driver and his 24-year-old male passenger, both from Victoria.

Officers then searched their vehicle, a Hyundai Tucson, where they allegedly located a large amount of high-end electrical goods, some still had the security tags attached.

The items included computer equipment, ink cartridges, navigation systems, modems and digital cameras.

The two men were arrested at the scene and taken to Goulburn Police Station where they were charged with larceny and goods in custody.

They were both refused bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 28 August 2018).
