2nd Arab SMEs Summit convenes in Marrakesh

Marrakesh, Morocco - 12 to 14 December 2023

What: The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing the second edition of the Arab SMEs Summit on the theme "From Resilience to Prosperity", in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment and Skills of Morocco and other national and regional partners.

When: From Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 December at 9 a.m. Marrakesh time.

Where: Rotana Palmeraie Palace, Marrakech, Morocco.

Who: The opening session of the Summit will feature:

  • Mr. Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Morocco;
  • Ms. Rola Dashti, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA.

Participants will also include inspiring Arab entrepreneurs, as well as investors, business influencers, political leaders, economists, journalists, intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations and donors.

Why: The Arab SMEs Summit serves as a regional platform for coordinating efforts and networks and bringing together policymakers and national and international decision makers from both the public and private sectors, to advocate inclusive policies and strategies required to support SMEs. It aims to support them in expanding their scope of action, , and accessing regional and global markets to ensure that no one is left behind.
