The winning ticket was not registered, leaving lotto officials with no means to directly inform the winner yesterday. It was only when the man checked his ticket and approached them that they could confirm his newfound multi-millionaire status.
In a call with a lotto official, the stunned winner exclaimed “I can’t believe I’ve won $30 million.”
Despite his frequent travels abroad for work, the man was elated to have purchased the winning ticket during his time in Australia, remarking, “Australia is my home!”
