The grant funding opportunity is part of the Active Sharing Partnership program, designed to facilitate collaboration between telcos to build shared mobile phone infrastructure, so more people can enjoy living, working and travelling in regional NSW.

The grants will support solutions which ensure regional communities receive better mobile services and more choice of providers. The grants will prioritise solutions:

in regional locations with no or poor mobile coverage

along transport corridors

around key tourism sites.

Earlier this year, Optus, Telstra, TPG Telecom, BAI Communications, Field Solutions Group, Infrastructure Logic, NEC and Pivotel Mobile successfully completed the design phase of the Active Sharing Partnership. These organisations are now invited to submit grant funding proposals for shared solutions that can be delivered in regional NSW.
