$33,000 worth of prohibited drugs seized after vehicle stop - Old Guildford

A man will face court today charged after police seized more than $33,000 worth of prohibited drugs during a vehicle search in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 6.30pm (Monday 5 October 2020), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team attempted to stop a silver BMW 320i sedan on Boughton Street, Old Guildford.

The BMW stopped and police conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the search, police seized 45g of methylamphetamine, allegedly concealed under the centre console, heroin, mobile phones and $1,300 cash.

The total estimated potential street value of the drugs is $33,750.

The driver, a 48-year-old man, and his passenger, a 19-year-old man, were arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.

The driver was charged with supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity), possess prohibited drug, and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The Guildford man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 6 October 2020).

The passenger was released pending further inquiries.
