  • 50 lots released to the market and seven for social housing

  • Stage 3 of the Indi Yanchep project directly north of the new METRONET station

Families looking to move to Yanchep in Perth's north now have a range of new options available, with the WA Government releasing 50 residential lots immediately north of the recently completed train station and the Yanchep City Centre METRONET precinct.

The 50 residential lots will be released to the market, with a further seven lots retained for social housing.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Parcel Property and DevelopmentWA.

The residential homesites, sized 188square metres to 512 square metres, can accommodate a range of housing options to suit local families and homeowners looking to upgrade.

The 50 lots are located within the Indi Yanchep project, a 36-hectare site in the City of Wanneroo, with prices ranging from $219,000 to $370,000.

This release represents Stage 3 of the Indi Yanchep project, which is anticipated to deliver a total of 576 lots upon completion.

Comments attributed to Housing and Works Minister John Carey:

"Our government is getting on with delivering a record $5.8 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures to boost supply across Western Australia.

"This is about using the State's land assets to unlock well-located land to support high-quality housing options for families in Perth's northern suburbs."

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

"Getting land development ready and on the market is a critical component to address our housing challenges, and these lots are really well located near our new METRONET Yanchep station.

"Yanchep is one of our fastest growing regions, and that's why we built the rail extension ahead of its projected population boom.

"The train stations in this fast-growing corridor will support the population base for decades to come and is providing current residents with the critical infrastructure they need now."

As stated by Butler MLA Lorna Clarke:

"As a mum, I am pleased to see the Cook Labor Government supporting more housing options for families in Yanchep.

"When I am doorknocking, many people raise with me their worry that their son or daughter, or grandchild, won't be able to afford a home. We are doing all we can to boost housing supply and make housing affordable for local families.

"This will provide families with more housing options really close to the recently opened Yanchep station, with only a 50 minute or so commute into the CBD or closer to Joondalup."
