Investigators from State Crime Command’s Drug and Serious Crime Group have charged a 55-year-old man and seized approximately 500 kilograms of hydroponically grown cannabis from an address in Wongawallan today, Queensland Police say.
This morning detectives executed a search warrant on the Wongawallan address. During the search of the seven-bedroom address, investigators located a purpose built facility designed for the hydroponic growth and cultivation of cannabis. Cannabis with an estimated weight of over 500 kilograms and a value in excess of $500,000 was seized.
A 55-year-old man located at the address has been arrested and charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing things in connection with the production of dangerous drugs.
He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on June 4.
