Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications
The Australian Government is providing $67 million for 15 new projects through the regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP).
Under the program, governments, businesses and community groups receive between $500,000 and $50 million to deliver more productive and liveable precincts in regional, rural and remote areas across Australia.
Projects announced in August 2025 include:
- $1.6 m for the Katherine and Big Rivers Multipurpose Sport and Recreation Precinct (NT)
- $2.45 m for the Big Rivers Region Bush Foods, Botanicals & Community Precinct (NT)
- $0.7 m for the Gapuwiyak Industrial and Commercial Precinct (NT)
- $0.85 m for the Cairns Major Events Precinct Masterplan and Project Validation Report (QLD)
- $0.5 m for the Mornington Island Tourism and Recreational Precinct (QLD)
- $8 m for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital - Research and Training Precinct (QLD)
- $7 m for the Langhorne Creek Discovery Trail (SA)
- $2.1 m for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Precinct Plan (WA)
- $0.66 m for the Derby Recreation Precinct Masterplan (WA)
- $0.6 m for the Northampton Economic Development Precinct
- $2.19 m for the TheConfluence - kanamaluka/Tamar Estuary Precinct (Tas)
- $4.69 m for Huonville ReImagined: Crafting a future Huonville (Tas)
- $14 m for the Hunter Park Multipurpose Youth and Recreation Precinct (NSW)
- $16.7 m for the East End Cathedral Park Precinct (NSW)
- $4.7 m for the Renewable Energy Land and Infrastructure Plan (VIC)
This investment will fund the design, development and delivery of multi-purpose precincts that support local priorities, enhance community resilience and drive productivity.
To date, the Australian Government has committed $230 million for 44 projects through the $400 million program.
