In partnership with Disability Sports Australia and Murray River Council, Campaspe Shire Council is pleased to announce the return of the Abilities Unleashed Sports Day, a dynamic and inclusive event celebrating sport and recreation for people living with disability.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 15 October, from 10am to 2:30pm at Echuca Stadium.
The day will be split into two sessions:
- Adults: 10am – 12 noon
- Children: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Participants will have the opportunity to try a variety of sports including wheelchair rugby, netball, and cricket, in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the event reflected Council's commitment to inclusive community engagement.
"It's about making sure everyone has the chance to be active, have fun, and feel part of something. Events like this help break down barriers and show what's possible when we come together.
"We're proud to support an event that opens doors for people living with disability to explore new activities and build confidence through sport," Cr Mackrell said.
Murray River Council Mayor Cr John Harvie echoed those sentiments.
"Council is proud to partner in an event that brings the local region together in such a positive way," he said.
"Abilities Unleashed shows how sport can unite people of all abilities and inspire people to stay active, connect with others and feel confident to keep participating well into the future."
