ACCI congratulates new Safe Work Australia Chair Joanne Farrell

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) congratulates Joanne Farrell on her appointment as Chair of Safe Work Australia.

"As Australia's largest and most representative business group we look forward to working with Ms Farrell in her new role as we continue to work together to better national Work Health and Safety (WHS) and workers' compensation policy," ACCI CEO Andrew McKellar said.

Also welcoming the appointment was ACCI's Director of Work Health and Safety, Jennifer Low. "As a Member of Safe Work Australia I'm looking forward to working with Ms Farrell who comes with extensive, practical, national and international health and safety and HR experience in the resources sector," Ms Low said.

"Ms Farrell's skillset will be much needed as SWA continues to provide advice on COVID management in workplaces, works to implement the remaining Boland Review recommendations and tackles ongoing and emerging issues such as occupational disease, psychosocial risk and changing occupational trends."

"I also extend our thanks to Diane Smith-Gander AO as outgoing Chair for her incredible diligence and contribution to Safe Work Australia over the last six years, particularly during two significant events such as the Boland Review and COVID-19."
