The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final has delivered a record-breaking economic benefit for South Australia – pouring $100.7 million into the state's economy.

It's the first time the event's economic benefit has topped $100 million – and is an almost 40 per cent boost on the previous year's impact.

The windfall was driven by more interstate and international visitors who stayed longer and spent more including on hotels.

An estimated 285,700 people attended the 2025 event – 10 per cent more than the 259,400 in 2024. More than 23 per cent were from interstate and overseas – 66,462 visitors in 2025 up from 54,028 in 2024.

The total number of visitor nights increased to 183,366.

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final was held from 27 to 30 November – the first event under the new Grand Final format, with new naming rights partner bp.

The event was brought back in 2022 by the Malinauskas Labor Government after it was cancelled by the former Liberal Government in 2021.

The Malinauskas Government has a strong record in bringing events to South Australia that deliver huge benefits for the South Australian economy.

This motorsport event, coupled with Gather Round and LIV Golf, have delivered almost $800 million to the South Australian economy between 2022 and 2025.

Millions of dollars more will flow into South Australia from next year, with another major event added to the calendar. South Australia has secured the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix from Victoria from next year, marking the return of international racing to the original Adelaide Grand Prix Street Circuit.

A record 102,200 people attended the Sunday of the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final event, more than either of the AFL or NRL grand finals, with the vast majority staying on for the AC/DC concert.

For the fourth year in a row, the event was awarded the Supercars Fan Choice Award – Best Event 2025, at the annual Supercars awards ceremony.

The Malinauskas Labor Government last year secured a landmark agreement with Supercars to lock in the bp Adelaide Grand Final until 2034.

Preparations are well underway for the 2026 event which will be held from Thursday 26 November to Sunday 29 November, with tickets on sale now.

The event now serves as the Grand Final of the Repco Supercars Championship, featuring four days of high-intensity racing on Adelaide's iconic street circuit.

US rock giants Guns N' Roses will headline the Sunday concert on 29 November, providing entertainment alongside the racing action.

As put by Peter Malinauskas

The bp Adelaide Grand Final continues to deliver huge wins for the South Australian economy.

Since we brought it back four years ago, this great event attracts more interstate and overseas visitors to South Australia every year.

Our major events strategy is delivering a clear return for our economy, helping us to fund other important projects in areas including health and housing.

Visitors to these events are seeing what our great state has to offer and spending record amounts of money while they're here.

We're excited for another high energy event in 2026 with Guns N' Roses headlining the Sunday concert.
