Teams faced off at the ADF Netball National Tournament in Sydney mid-November, with more than 300 participants from across Australia.
In the state-versus-state clashes, Western Australia claimed the men's title over NSW, while NSW secured victories in both the mixed and ladies' divisions against South-East Queensland.
Air Force took out the men's competition in the interservice games, with Navy triumphing in mixed and Army winning the ladies' division.
Goal attack, Army Corporal Eloise Carter, played on the NSW mixed team, which went undefeated throughout their division.
Corporal Carter said the result was unexpected.
"The teams chop and change each year, with new combinations and new players on the court - you don't really know what the week holds until you get there," she said.
"The competition got harder as teams developed more and got more comfortable with their combinations."
The grand final was tight in the first half before NSW pulled away to win.
"South-East Queensland was the more difficult opponent, especially as the competition intensified and teams bonded throughout the week," Corporal Carter said.
Seaman Gemma Baird was a goal shooter and goal attack on the ladies team.
"It's a pretty exciting opportunity and great to have a chance to play high-level netball," Seaman Baird said.
'You don't have to be sporty, just come along for the networking. That in itself is more valuable.'
The ADF Netball Association (ADFNA) uses the annual carnival to select its seven representative teams that compete in civilian competitions.
"I was selected for the ladies ADF team, which means I get to go to the NSW state champs next year," Seaman Baird said.
"I love netball and just being able to do it in a new competition will be good."
For Leading Aircraftman James Murphy, who represented Air Force, securing the men's interservice title for the second year running was his biggest highlight.
"It's an achievement on top of coming away with a couple of MVPs [most valuable players]," Leading Aircraftman Murphy said.
He said the tournament had a great social side and more people should get involved.
"You don't have to be sporty, just come along for the networking. That in itself is more valuable," Leading Aircraftman Murphy said.
Looking ahead to 2026, ADFNA's representative teams will compete at major events including the Australian men's and mixed tournaments in Perth and the NSW state titles in Western Sydney.
They will also feature at the Combined Australian Netball Association Carnival in South Australia and the Pan Pacific Masters Games.
