Adult, 5 Juveniles Arrested After Stolen Car Crashes in Wolli Creek

An adult and five juveniles have been arrested after the stolen vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a light pole in the City's south.

About 11.45pm yesterday (Sunday 4 October 2026), officers from St George Police Area Command and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command responded to reports of a white Toyota Hiace van travelling south bound along King Georges Road, Beverly Hills, where the occupants were allegedly wearing face coverings.

Inquiries established that the vehicle had allegedly been stolen from Ridge Street, North Sydney, in the early hours of last Friday (2 October 2026) after the owner had left the keys in the vehicle.

Shortly after midnight today (Monday 5 October 2026), officers allegedly observed the vehicle heading north bound along the Princess Highway, Arncliffe, when it turned left into Brodie Sparks Drive, Wolli Creek.

It will be alleged the vehicle crashed into a light pole where all occupants ran from the scene.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested at the scene.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries sustained from the crash and taken to St George Hospital where she remains under police guard in a stable condition.

With the assistance of additional police – including PolAir and the Dog Squad – five males aged 18, two aged 16 and another two aged 15 - were arrested in surrounding streets.

The were taken to Kogarah Police Station where investigations are ongoing.

It will be alleged that a number of items of interest were located in the vehicle including latex gloves. A large hunting knife was allegedly located nearby.

The vehicle has been seized for forensic examination.

At no times were police in pursuit of the vehicle or indicated for the vehicle to stop.
