Aggravated Armed Robbery - Lighthouse Hotel at Ulverstone

Tasmania Police are currently investigating an aggravated armed robbery which occurred about 9.20pm on Sunday 2nd May 2021 at the Lighthouse hotel in Ulverstone.

A male has approached the gaming lounge bar with what appeared to be the barrel of a firearm and demanded the cash drawer. The female bar attendant has emptied the contents of the cash drawer into a small blue backpack, belonging to the male. The male has then left the hotel via the rear exit at the car park.

The male is described as wearing black or dark clothing and was last seen running in a south westerly direction along the train line.

No injuries were sustained during the incident and Police would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
