Aggravated break and enter at Aberdare

Police are investigating an aggravated break and enter in the state's Hunter region overnight.

About 9.35pm (Tuesday 6 August 2019), a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were returning home to a property on Kearsley Street, Aberdare when they noticed a silver Holden Commodore in the driveway.

An unknown man then left the premises; police have been told he assaulted both the man and the woman before fleeing the scene towards Melbourne Street.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.

Police believe more than one person was involved in the incident.
