Aid for Fire-Hit Farmers Now Available

Farmers impacted by recent bushfires across Victoria can now access dedicated financial assistance to support their recovery.

The Albanese and Allan Governments have opened two targeted financial assistance programs for eligible primary producers.

The financial support is part of a broader support package announced last week and funded through through joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). It will provide critical help for cleanup, repair and long-term rebuilding.

The Primary Producer Bushfire Recovery Grants offer up to $75,000 to eligible applicants to help with clean up and recovery costs. This may include things such as replacing fences, plant and equipment, and disposing of deceased livestock and damaged goods.

Primary Producer Bushfire Recovery Concessional Loans of up to $250,000 are also available to help eligible producers with longer-term recovery and rebuilding. This includes restoring or replacing damaged assets and supporting cashflow while farms get back to full production.
