Federal Minister for Emergency Management Kristy McBain said the Albanese and Finocchiaro Governments were working together to support impacted businesses and non-profits to recover.

"We know a lot of small businesses and non-profit organisations have borne the brunt of persistent severe weather and flooding over the summer," Minister McBain said.

"These organisations are often the backbone of their communities. This latest assistance will help them to recover faster.

"The Albanese Government is in it for the long haul when it comes to helping impacted communities to recover from natural disaster."

Northern Territory Acting Chief Minister Gerard Maley said the assistance would provide practical support to businesses and community organisations across impacted areas.

"Small businesses are the backbone of many Territory communities, and this assistance will help eligible operators deal with the impacts of Ex-Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle and ongoing flooding," Mr Maley said.

"Community organisations are also critical to local recovery. This support will help eligible non-profit organisations repair or replace essential assets so they can continue delivering services to their communities."

The Northern Territory Government will administer the program through the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations.
