Albury joins Digital Driver Licence trial

More than 25,000 drivers in the Albury region can now participate in the NSW Digital Driver Licence trial.

To participate, licence holders need to live in the 2640 or 2641 postcode and have the Service NSW mobile app.

The Digital Driver Licence can be used for proof of identity and proof of age to gain entry into pubs and clubs, as well for roadside police checks in the trial area.

Participation is voluntary and drivers who opt-in will still need to carry their plastic driver licence with them.

The trial has been extended Albury to identify potential cross border issues before the Digital Driver Licence is rolled out state wide. A trial is already under way in Dubbo and Sydney's Eastern Beaches.

The Digital Driver Licence cannot currently be used in Victoria.

Eligible participants need to create a MyServiceNSW Account at www.service.nsw.gov.au, download the Service NSW mobile app on their smartphone and opt-in for the Digital Driver Licence.
