A 29 year old male Constable from the northern region will be charged with assault arising from an off-duty incident that occurred on Saturday 6 July 2019. The incident occurred during a sporting event and involved another player.
The officer remains on operational duty and has been summoned to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on 16 December 2019.
As the matter is now before the court it is inappropriate to make any further comment.
