Allens advises on Centres for National Resilience in Queensland and Western Australia

Allens has advised Multiplex on contracts to deliver to the Commonwealth government:

  • the Centre for National Resilience Melbourne in Mickleham, Victoria
  • the Centre for National Resilience Brisbane at the Damascus Barracks in Pinkenba, Queensland
  • the Centre for National Resilience Perth in Bullsbrook in Western Australia

As head contractor, Multiplex is responsible for delivering a new purpose-built centre to support Australia's response to the current pandemic and any future pandemics, natural disasters or similar events. Multiplex is working with a panel of modular contractors in order to ensure the design is delivered efficiently.

Partner David Donnelly, who led the Allens teams, said 'These transactions are another important step in developing purpose built quarantine infrastructure to support our continued response to COVID-19 and to increase our resilience in the event of future pandemics, natural disasters or similar events.'

'Together with the existing centre at Howard Springs in the Northern Territory, these centres provide Australian with improved national response capability. We congratulate Multiplex and the Commonwealth for their commitment to delivering this critical infrastructure for the nation.'
