Amcor Boosts UK Packaging Tax Readiness with RecyClass

ZURICH, July 16, 2026 - Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has achieved RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification (EN15343) for selected specifications of its Bontite® Sustane stretch film. These films contain defined levels of post‑consumer recycled (PCR) content and support customers preparing for upcoming changes to the UK Plastics Packaging Tax (PPT) in 2027.

Manufactured at Amcor's sites in Leominster, United Kingdom and Zele, Belgium, Bontite® is a range of blown LLDPE stretch wrap films designed to secure and stabilize palletized goods during transit. The films combine the toughness of blown film with the clarity associated with cast film and can deliver high holding force, puncture resistance and significant stretch performance depending on specification and application. When paired with Amcor's technical support, customers can optimize wrapping performance, use less film, improve load stability and potentially reduce total cost of ownership.

The RecyClass certification verifies that recycled plastics incorporated into finished products are independently audited, fully traceable throughout production and aligned with recognized European standards. This supports customers preparing for UK PPT changes from April 2027, when pre‑consumer recycled content (PIR) will no longer count towards the 30% threshold and only post‑consumer recycled (PCR) content will be accepted.

Verified traceability is also increasingly valuable across Europe, where Extended Producer Responsibility fees, local packaging taxes and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation are driving stricter reporting requirements. RecyClass provides customers with independently validated evidence that helps reduce compliance gaps and strengthens the accuracy of sustainability reporting.

"Certification strengthens customer confidence that their packaging choices support compliance with evolving regulation," said Gabriele Ditsch, Sales Director at Amcor. "Our certified Bontite Sustane stretch films provide independent assurance of recycled content claims and reinforce Amcor's ability to scale verified PCR solutions across industrial and secondary packaging."

Bontite® stretch films support customers across beverage, manufacturing, retail and consumer goods sectors, where secure pallet loads, efficient operations and product protection are critical. For businesses managing high-volume distribution networks, the combination of performance-focused stretch film and verified PCR content helps balance operational requirements with sustainability objectives. Independent RecyClass certification provides additional confidence that recycled content claims are robust and transparent throughout the supply chain.

RecyClass certification has also been confirmed across a range of Amcor's flexible packaging solutions manufactured at UK sites in Ardeer, Bromborough and Winsford. Additional certifications at Steinfeld, Germany; Hardenberg, Netherlands; Roeselare, Belgium; and Zdzieszowice, Poland reinforce Amcor's ability to provide customers with consistently verified recycled-content solutions across multiple product categories and manufacturing locations throughout Europe.
