ZURICH, December 10, 2025- Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, in collaboration with the French dairy cooperative Laïta, have been awarded in the 'flexible - complex packaging' category at the 2025 Zero Impact Packaging Trophies. The French Zero Impact Trophies are prestigious awards that honour the most impactful sustainability initiatives across the packaging industry, celebrating innovation and measurable environmental progress.
Amcor and Laïta have been recognised for developing a packaging for the Paysan Breton Emmental Cheese in blocks, the flagship brand of Laïta. The packaging will now use Amcor's AmPrima® PP film in the Easy Pack format. This film will replace the previous multi-material structure made with three different types of plastic, which was not recyclable, within a few weeks. The new solution is based on a PP-based structure, making it mostly recyclable within the polypropylene (PP) flexible-film recycling stream, in alignment with the guidelines provided by COTREP and the CITEO Tree Tool, expected to become operational in France from 2026.
In addition, the new film offers a 6% plastic weight reduction compared to the previous solution, thereby reducing material use and lowering Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees.
The new AmPrima® PP film delivers a 63% carbon footprint reduction* compared to the prior structure. It is also fully compatible with existing cheese packaging equipment. Importantly, the new film maintains all the original benefits and functionalities of the Easy Pack format, including shelf life, sealing integrity, line efficiency, and consumer convenience.
"This collaboration with Laïta and the Paysan Breton brand is a great example of how brands can make meaningful progress toward more sustainable packaging with no compromise for their customers," said Laura Delapeyronnie, Marketing Manager, Dairy for Amcor. "By addressing the growing expectations of consumers while maintaining packaging performance, this project shows how innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand."
"This project, developed with Amcor, a long-standing partner of Laïta, addresses several objectives. It enabled us to reduce the use of plastic and switch to packaging that is designed for recycling , in line with the requirements of the new European PPWR regulation, which will require manufacturers to have 100% of their packaging design for recycling by 2030.** Furthermore, by reducing the carbon footprint of this packaging, we are directly contributing to our Laïta SBTI objective, which aims to reduce it by 25% on our purchases by 2030." explains Mathieu Boulc'h, Packaging Manager at Laïta.

*Based on a cradle-to-grave comparison of standard Easy Pack vs. AmPrima® PP Easy Pack Film, assuming 100% incineration of the baseline pack and 100% recycling of the new pack. Carbon footprint reduction calculated using Amcor's ASSET lifecycle assessment model, certified by Carbon Trust. Data valid at time of analysis.
** Excluding healthcare packaging
