The Fair Work Commission Rules 2024 (Rules) have been amended by the Fair Work Commission Amendment (2026 Measures No. 1) Rules 2026. The amendments follow a period of public consultation and commence today 31 July 2026.
The amendments make several changes to improve the clarity and operation of the Rules, including updates to support recent legislative reforms and electronic case management processes. This includes a new requirement that applications for approval of an enterprise agreement be accompanied by a digital copy of the agreement.
The General Manager recently published a statement about upcoming changes to our systems and processes. This included the need for rule changes to support the delivery of several projects. These changes will support the implementation of the Agreement Checklist Assistant. This tool will be used by our staff to help them triage agreement approval applications.
