Conference Program

Morning session: Our history, our rights, our voices, our future.

We will reflect on 45 years of PWDA and the achievements of disability-led advocacy, while looking at the work still needed to make our rights a reality.

Twenty years after the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), we'll explore Australia's progress in delivering on its commitments and what needs to change.

Afternoon session: Identity and the power of storytelling

Our afternoon session will explore the power of identity, community and lived experience in creating change.

We will hear from LGBTQIA+ people with disability about inclusion, safety and the importance of recognising our intersecting identities.

We will also celebrate the power of storytelling, announce the winners of PWDA's community attitudes creative storytelling competition and hear from members about how sharing our experiences can build connection, challenge attitudes and strengthen advocacy.
