
Mr Singh is the Managing Partner of Mandala, an economics strategy and research advisory firm at the forefront of public policy innovation, cutting-edge data insights and leading technology trends.
The appointment is one of several positions announced in the cultural sector today by the Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke MP, who said each would bring a unique perspective.
'Each new appointee is an expert in their own right, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise in their dedicated fields.
'Ensuring our beloved cultural institutions have the strongest leadership is the best way to safeguard them for future generations,' Minister Burke said.
National Museum Director Ms Katherine McMahon said Mr Singh's appointment is timely.
'The Museum is prosecuting an ambitious growth agenda and Mr Singh's data insights and policy experience will be invaluable as we accelerate and expand our programs and reach, domestically and internationally,' said Ms McMahon.
'I'm delighted to welcome Mr Singh and look forward to working together as we harness the phenomenal opportunities opened up by digital innovation, to grow our audiences and engagement,' said Ms McMahon.
Mr Singh, who was appointed on 24 July 2025 for a three-year term, was Managing Director in Accenture's global economic insights practice and the global head of economic policy at Uber Technologies Inc. He previously served as the senior economic adviser to two prime ministers, a deputy prime minister and an opposition leader.
Mr Singh began his career as a merger and acquisition lawyer. He is a member of the advisory board of the Centre for Australia–India Relations as well as the Independent Advisory Board for Services Australia, and an external member of the Strategy and Social Policy Committee of the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
