The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a collaborative meeting with Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, in Washington, D.C., United States.
Minister Anand and Secretary Rubio discussed the Canada-United States bilateral relationship and the two countries' continued cooperation on shared priorities in areas such as Russia's continued aggression against Ukraine, opportunities to advance Arctic security following Minister Anand's meeting with the Nordic 5 and the security crisis in Haiti.
They also discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the urgent need for humanitarian aid to flow unobstructed, for Hamas to lay down its arms and for the hostages to be returned.
Minister Anand invited Secretary Rubio to the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting which will take place in Ontario this Autumn.
