Annual Report released

Horsham Rural City Council's Annual Report 2020-21 was presented to Council at its 25 October meeting 2021.

Mayor Robyn Gulline said the report, which is required to be lodged with the Minister for Local Government, showcased the major achievements and milestones of the past financial year as set out in the Council Plan.

"I am proud of the work that Councillors and Council staff have been able to accomplish. So much has been achieved for our community in what has been a challenging year for many reasons," Cr Gulline said.

"While it is a statutory document, the Annual Report is also a fantastic overview of current and future activities taking place across every township, industry and community in the shire, and I encourage all residents to view the report via Council's website."

Cr Gulline said while the pandemic was ever-present, there were plenty of achievements across the 2020-2021 period.

"It was very much a year for long-term planning with the 20-year Community Vision completed. We also adopted a new Community Engagement Policy and a new Parking Management Plan was developed to modernise and enhance the way we access Horsham's central activity district," she said.

"Much work was also done in capturing the community's feedback on the proposed redevelopment of the City Oval and Sawyer Park precinct.

"For the operations department, the highlight was the beginning of construction on the Wimmera Agricultural and Logistics HUB."
