Annual Update Of Medical Tables Of Costs 2 December

WorkCover Queensland has reviewed and updated the Medical Tables of Costs for medical treatment and supplementary services under the Queensland workers' compensation scheme. These changes take effect from 1 December 2025 and reflect the maximum fees payable by insurers.

The Medical Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers, explanations, definitions, rules, and conditions continue to be adopted where they apply to work-related injuries.

What's new?

  • Fee indexation: Fees have been updated in line with CPI and wage index increases where appropriate.
  • Surgical item adjustments: Changes have been made to surgical operation items (Group T8) to better align with current pricing methodology.
  • Specialist Supplementary Services update: Independent medical services items have been removed, providing clearer definitions of services relevant to treating providers.
  • Independent Medical Services: A new Independent Medical and Allied Health Services Table of Costs will be published and take effect 1 January 2026, outlining relevant fees for independent panel providers.
